Dick Mercado – Senior Pastor

Dick grew up in Phoenix and is a third generation pastor. A graduate of Bob Jones University, he has served in full time local church ministry for 24 years. After nine years as senior pastor of the bilingual Evangelical Church in central Phoenix, he and his wife of 25 years, Joyce and their 4 children, Tori, Shannon, Zachary and Tyler, answered God's call to plant a new church in the west valley. The visionary for our ministry, Pastor’s passion is that Westpointe Baptist Church be a worshiping community where God is exalted, a witnessing community where our neighborhood and the world are evangelized with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a working community where the family of God is edified and equipped to serve. Dick has a special heart for Christian education and Spanish ministries and serves on the board of directors of Christian Schools of Arizona and Mission Gospel Ministries International.

Josh Lindsey – Youth Pastor

A graduate of Bob Jones University, Josh and his wife Amber came to us in July of 2009 to oversee our youth ministries. The Lindseys have a genuine heart for teens and a passion to see them come to Christ, grow in God, and reach others for His glory. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Josh’s fun-loving personality and fervent heart for God make him a wonderful leader and friend to our youth.

Robert Munne - Evangelism and Discipleship

A native of Miami, Florida, Robert has been serving in full time local church ministry as a pastor and Christian educator for 25 years. With Westpointe since its founding, he along with his wife Kathy and three children Rob, Josh, and Sarah have been actively involved in reaching our community for Christ. Robert is a graduate of Bob Jones University and an avid soccer fan as well as championship coach.

Eddie Mixell – Children’s Ministries

Along with his wife Michelle and son Chase, Eddie relocated to the Phoenix area in 2009 with the expressed purpose of contributing to the growth of Westpointe Baptist Church. Eddie oversees our Awana ministry and Route 252, our children’s church program. Also a graduate of Bob Jones University, Eddie has years of experience in law enforcement and is trained in martial arts.
